Prior to her involvement in the non-profit world, Jaime began her career in the Pharmaceutical industry. She spent the better part of 10 years with Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and Sepracor Biotechnology as a sales representative. Despite her success, Jaime believed that there were alternative and complementary solutions to the challenges she was addressing. In the aftermath of her mother's death, she entered Acupuncture school; her true passion. Jaime believes that there are synergies between Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine. As she states, "there is no right way to be healed, just what works." Currently, she is an acupuncturist at NYC Points Acupuncture.
Prior to helping his daughter Jaime establish HMESF, Richard has been a board member and advisor to other non-profit foundations. Since 2008, he is the Managing Director of Richard Marks Management and Sales Consulting, a firm that provides strategy, sales and marketing services to media and content companies. Prior to this activity, Richard was a senior executive for several media and content companies with a track record of success in revenue growth, marketing and general management. As a graduate of Philadelphia University, Richard has a Bachelor of Science, Marketing.
Elizabeth began her work as an educator in 2002. Since then she has worked with a variety of age groups and within a variety of settings. Elizabeth received her Master of Education from Teachers College and is a New York State Certified Teacher in Early Childhood Education and Students with Disabilities (aged birth - 2nd grade). She brings with her extensive experience working with children and the developmental knowledge of children in the 0-3 age range.
Elizabeth spent 5 years working at a preschool on the Upper East Side of Manhattan where she worked with 3 and 4 year olds. She is now a Learning Specialist at The Hewitt School on the Upper East Side of Manhattan working with girls in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades.
Matthew has a background in finance and policy, primarily in the energy sector, focusing on clean power. Matt currently works at Clean Infra Partners, a financial and strategic advisory business focused on mobilizing capital for the fast-growing renewable energy, natural gas, waste and water infrastructure markets. Clean Infra was founded by former team members of the William J. Clinton Foundation, where Matt worked previously, both in Sydney and New York. While at the Clinton Foundation, Matt advised foreign governments on their energy policy, developing policy and finance-based solutions for deploying large-scale renewable energy. Matt worked on projects around the world, having advised in Australia, China, India, and Malaysia, among other countries. Prior to his work with the Clinton Foundation Matt worked in investment banking at Lehman Brothers and Nomura in London, where he focused on the mergers and acquisitions in the mining sector.
Matt has worked with non-profit organizations in fields ranging from rural electrification to children's rights and is involved in his community in Brooklyn through elementary school tutoring programs. Matt majored in economics at Yale University.
Melanie is a founding member of the Helene Marks Early Start Foundation in 2007. She is a Strategic Planning Committee Member where she shapes the organization’s identity, formalizes core community responsibilities, determines financial recommendations and is a first-hand liaison to several centers served. In Spring 2014, her responsibility grew to be an active member of the Event & Fundraising Committee, too, and assisted the Chairperson for the Spring 2014 Event. In Spring 2015, she was the Chairperson of the First Annual Casino Night Fundraising Event, which due to its success will be an annual event. Melanie was inducted into the Board of Directors in April 2015. Her specialty is volunteer recruitment.
Melanie has over 15 years of sales and marketing experience, mostly in New York City. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from The University of Vermont. She is married and lives in Astoria, NY.
Carrie became a member of the Helene Marks Early Start Foundation in March 2014, through her volunteer work on the Events & Fundraising Committee. She advised and executed the foundation's marketing initiatives and drove HMESF's 2014 spring fundraising event. In April 2015, Carrie was elected to the Board of Directors, and provides marketing and communications counsel to HMESF. In addition to her Board duties, Carrie continues to support the foundation through her fundraising efforts, and as an active member of the Events & Fundraising Committee.
Carrie has over 15 years of experience in developing and executing effective marketing strategies, and works as a director for a strategic communications firm. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Pennsylvania State University.
Natalie is a Teach For America corps member teaching third-grade in the South Bronx. Previously, Natalie has worked as a teaching assistant at Perkins School for the Blind in Boston, a writer and producer of preschool content at Sockeye Media in NYC, and a mentor/coordinator through an AmeriCorps gang prevention program in San Diego.
Natalie has a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in Italian from the University of Kansas and is earning a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education. Previous journalism roles include copy editing at The North County Times (San Diego) and The Indianapolis Star.
Bradley Walbridge serves as the Treasurer of HMESF. Previously he held a junior board position with Partnership with Children beginning in August 2010, for approximately 3 years, including being elected the treasurer on the executive committee. Brad became a member of HMESF junior board in September 2013 and was elected to the Board of Directors in June 2015.
Brad currently is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at Tyrian Investments, LP, a global long/short equity asset manager employing a bottom-up, value-oriented investment strategy. Prior to Tyrian, Brad was a manager in the Alternative Asset Management division at The Blackstone Group, where he helped to manage the operations team. He is a graduate of Boston College, where he double majored in Finance and Accounting and he also currently holds a CPA license. He resides in Westchester County with his wife & 2 daughters.
